Hypnosis Beyond · Sara Gerber

Dear Beautiful Soul,
Welcome, and thank you for inviting me to be part of your journey.
I’ve created this guide to help you feel prepared for your session and to answer many of the questions that naturally arise beforehand. While none of the suggestions in this guide are required, many clients find they help them feel more relaxed, confident, and open as they prepare for their session.
The most important preparation is simply to trust yourself. There is no “perfect” way to experience a session. Every person’s journey is unique, and your session will unfold exactly as it is meant to.
I look forward to walking alongside you on this journey.
With love and light,
Sara Gerber

Learning to Quiet the Mind
If meditation is not already part of your routine, this is a wonderful time to begin. During a Hypnosis Beyond session, a calm and relaxed mind makes it easier to access deeper levels of awareness.
Meditating for 5–20 minutes each day is ideal, though even 1–2 minutes can make a noticeable difference. Meditate in silence, listen to nature sounds, music, or guided meditations — using headphones can help reduce outside distractions and support a deeper experience.

Intention / Affirmation
Before your session, it can be very helpful to set a clear intention — a simple statement of what you wish to explore or receive during your Hypnosis Beyond session.
A helpful way to do this is with the following affirmation:
“I have clear and direct communication with my Higher Self.”
Notice that this is in the present tense. Rather than saying “I will have,” we affirm that this connection already exists.
You can repeat this intention/affirmation silently or out loud throughout your day, and especially right before going to sleep. A simple way to remember it is to place a post-it note on your bathroom mirror — as you brush your teeth or prepare for bed, take a moment to focus on your intention. Many people notice small insights, feelings, or intuitive nudges appearing in daily life — gentle signs that your Higher Self is already beginning to communicate.
Releasing Expectations
Intentions and expectations are very different. While intention opens the door to possibility, rigid expectations can unintentionally limit the experience.
Each Hypnosis Beyond session unfolds in its own unique way. Some people experience vivid imagery; others receive feelings, impressions, or a quiet sense of knowing. All of these experiences are valid ways that information can arise.

Practicing by Listening to a Recorded Session
Listening to a recorded session beforehand can help you become familiar with the process and comfortable with my voice and facilitation style, supporting a deeper session.

Keep a notebook or voice recorder nearby to capture impressions or experiences that arise.
Strengthening Visualization & Imagination
One of the most important things to understand before your session is the role of imagination. Rather than “making things up,” think of imagination as the doorway through which your consciousness gives permission for guidance from your Higher Self to come through. During your session, guidance may be experienced as images, sensations, emotions, thoughts, memories, symbols, or simple inner knowing. There is no right or wrong way for this information to unfold.
Many people also wonder whether they can be hypnotized or worry that they’ll lose control or become unconscious. In reality, hypnosis is a natural state of focused awareness, and most people remain aware throughout the session. You do not need to reach an unconscious state for your session to be meaningful or effective.
Spending a little time preparing beforehand can help you feel more comfortable trusting whatever arises during your session.
To help you prepare, I highly recommend exploring the resources below from Candace Craw-Goldman. They include short preparation videos, guidance on strengthening your imagination, and answers to many of the most common questions and misconceptions about hypnosis and regression work.

2. Questions & Topics for Your Session
Take some time to reflect on the questions or areas of your life you would like to explore during your session. Place them in order of importance, as we may not have time to address every question.
Some clients bring a single question, while others bring many—both approaches are perfectly fine. Most clients prepare between 5–12 questions, though there is no set requirement.
For example:
-
- I have had asthma since birth. Why? Can it be healed?
-
- I am in a new relationship. Is this person aligned with my path?
-
- I feel dissatisfied in my career. What direction would be more fulfilling?
-
- I have a difficult relationship with my sister. Why is this dynamic present?
-
- I once had an unusual dream or experience. What was happening at that time?
-
- I have always felt drawn to a particular place or subject. Why?
Please email your questions before your session so I can have them available during our time together.
As you prepare for your session, it’s completely normal for your questions to evolve or for new ones to arise. If anything changes, simply let me know at the beginning of our session.
3. The Day of Your Session
To help you get the most out of your session, I recommend the following:
-
- Avoid alcohol, cannabis, and any non-prescribed recreational drugs for 24 hours before your session.
-
- Avoid coffee and other caffeinated beverages for at least 4 hours before your session. If you regularly drink coffee, simply reduce your intake beforehand—there’s no need to eliminate it completely.
-
- Have a wired pair of earphones with a microphone available for your session. Wireless headphones, Bluetooth devices, and AirPods are not compatible.
-
- If possible, take a short walk or spend a few quiet moments outdoors shortly before your session. Gentle movement can help relax the body, quiet the mind, and prepare you for the experience.
-
- Take a moment to reconnect with the intention you set for your session.
-
- Have a glass or cup of water ready for your session. We’ll begin with a brief water intention exercise.
4. After the Session – Integration
Many people describe their session as a vivid inner journey or an extended, meaningful daydream. After a Hypnosis Beyond session, it is common to feel as though you have returned from a profound inner experience.
For this reason, if possible, keep the rest of your day free. It is generally not recommended to schedule additional appointments after your session or plan a long drive (unless you will be a passenger). Giving yourself space afterward allows you to gently process your experience before returning to demanding mental tasks or strenuous physical activity.
Allow yourself time to rest, reflect, and simply be. There is no right or wrong way to integrate your experience.
In the days and weeks that follow, you may continue to notice new insights, shifts, perspectives, or even vivid dreams. Integration is often a gradual process, and each person’s experience is unique.
After our session, I will prepare your recording and send you a Google Drive link using the email address you provided. Please download your recording as soon as you receive it and save a backup copy, as I cannot store recordings indefinitely.
Your recording is an important part of the integration process. Even if you remember your session clearly at first, some details may naturally fade over time, much like a dream. Listening to your recording in the days, weeks, and even months that follow often brings new awareness, deeper understanding, and insights that may not have been apparent during the session itself.
I always enjoy hearing how your experience unfolds over time. If you feel called to share, I’d love to hear from you. Please don’t hesitate to reach out whenever it feels right.
